August Update

Hello all,  

Seems it's been a minute or two since we've updated, and like we promised, big things are in store!  For example: one of our greatest comrades recently took on a job that any of our readers could appreciate -- a booking gig.  What does this mean?  Well, we had a quick chat a couple of weeks ago where it was mutually assumed that the opportunity be open for any musicians / groups on here to indulge in.  Bottom line :: if you're touring, and find yourself ANYWHERE near IA, get at us.  We still need to see if it's allowed to even post this gentleman's contact info, but until then, CaptainCaptainIndustries@Gmail.com -- we'll instantly forward yo' ass to the man himself.

Mid-Summer Hiatus

Production here at the Industry will be a little slower than in past weeks - mainly for brainstorming + our soon-to-be-revealed fre$h new gimmick. xx

An Odd Trend -

Alright, normally we'd just leave this tacked on the bulletin board, but we've started to notice a really odd trend in our blog's following. Every time we lose an actual Google Subscriber (now down to a bare-bones twenty-seven...), we gain about two or three FaceBook 'likes'.

Our recommendation : Do both! Seriously. The minute we hit 100 'likes' on our FaceBook page, the gates to free swag give-a-ways open up. The second we get to... let's say, 50 Google Friend Connect Subscribers, even more gates to free swag open up.

We're just wondering where y'all went! <3

Update/Mixtape Information/Possible Contest?

What's up, world? Just an update to let you know how things are going around the office. Yesterday, the first test mixtape CD was crafted, as well as some D.I.Y.-style cases for 'em. We'll be releasing three editions of this mixtape, one being another digital release, another being the 'promotional' edition that comes in a standard sleeve, and the last being our deluxe package, the most limited edition we'll release.

Our official artist's list - I can't quite release all of it yet, but our confirmed artists include : Lane Weaver, Fooch/P.A.C., Heath Morris, Abigail Frerichs, The Olympics, a slew of original productions, and an exclusive mixtape-only track by Schismatic. The CD consists of somewhere around twenty tracks, so that's twenty reasons to keep coming back for more first-to-know information.

In other news, people are totally coppin' that EP. We had a little more than a hundred-and-fifty downloads in two days, even though MediaFire likes to be selective as to which users can actually view the files. Thank you all for downloadin', and if you'd be interested in rhyming over any of hit, hit us up at CaptainCaptainIndustries@Gmail.com.

Finally, kudos to Solo Co. for our new addition into the C.C.I. .jpeg vault. We ran a contest in '08, asking our fans to design some digital Captain Captain Industries art, and the result saw over ten or fifteen solid, original designs. Now knowing that our fanbase has extended quite a bit in these past two years, we may have a second 'volume' of the contest. We'll keep you updated on any promos/contests coming up as well.

Until then though, try and stay dry. It's so damn soggy outside.

Triptonikhan + Purple Asteroid Cadillac + Update

Gonna be in the Santa Cruz area this Valentine's Day? Then you gotta check out our new favorite groundbreaking electronic artist - Triptonikhan. Performing at the Blue Lagoon, Trip's been killin' it here at the Industry, with his spaz-stylings blazing through our speakers on a very regular basis. We've got official word that Triptonikhan will be dropping a brand new album on Valentine's Day, and you know we'll be one of the first to let you know. Keep an eye out for this dude, and if you haven't checked our debut article on this project, you can find that right here.

Also, Captain Captain Industries juggernauts, the Purple Asteroid Cadillac crew, have a gig or four coming up in the near future -- including a February 25th showing at the Yacht Club in Iowa City. We'll getcha' some more details as they arrive, but for now, you can peep their ReverbNation page, where you can bump all of their latest and greatest tracks before what looks like a nice mini-tour in the future.

We're in the process of getting more exclusive C.C.I. artists lined up -- including a very digital video game themed album that'll keep you on your toes for a bit, as well as some genre-bending riffs by our new FaceBook friend, Tomas Roman.

Until then, I'm headin' off. We got work bright n' early tomorrow -- and I gotta have time to scrape that windshield in the morning.

First off, let us just say Happy New Year's. 2010 saw the birth of Captain Captain Industries, and we expect to pick up right where we left off of last year, with more under-the-radar, quality music, more dynamic art, digital or otherwise, more local event information, and more of the best readers anyone could ask for.
